El Guscio
The Brief
The client desires a private personal residence that embodies elegance, prestige, and a clear definition of status. The home is conceived as a personal reward for years of struggle, discipline, and perseverance, representing achievement, self-worth, and arrival. The residence should graciously accommodate family members during festive periods and special occasions. The appearance must project authority, refinement, and permanence.
The Solution
J Mega responded with a classical architectural expression, unique in essence, dominated by a shell-like porch celebrated with acanthus decorative elements. Though situated on a half plot, the building is carefully composed to encompass open, flowing spaces, which gradually unfold as one transcends through the entrance lobby.
The building further features a sizable first-floor balcony, accessed from the family lounge, providing a space for outdoor relaxation and personal or family moments. This balcony is creatively supported tangentially by columns, allowing for a short cantilever that frees the ground level for unobstructed parking.
The dominant shell-like porch defines the architectural identity of the building and takes precedence in the overall composition. In recognition of this defining feature, the project is titled “The Shell” – El Guscio
